morning all!

tell it depends what you mean by a three wheeler there are the zapps and zias etc then big all terrain pushchairs mountain buggies etc.

depends what you need it for. i've got maclaren, zapp and p&t so one of each really!!! i love my zapp for nipping around the shops its soooo light its fab, but would be no good for off road walking big air tyres best for that as get over any terrain and comfy for your dc. maclaren great for public transport, prefer the fold to the zapp much more straightforward. depends on age of child and what you want to use it for.

tellnoone

The www.babyfy.com/index.php/product-review/4295/Out-n-About-Nipper-360/ Nipper 360]] is fab, really lightweight and folds quite small for a full size 3 wheeler.

mamadiva · 24/01/2009 07:50

Oops LOL

Morning all

I have a couple of pushchair questions and I'm wondering if any of you fellow addicts can help me?

My main pushchair is the Micralite Toro which I adore . I've got the Winter Warmer footmuff and I've been considering a seat liner too but would that be silly and a waste of money? I can zip the top part of the footmuff off and use the bottom part as a liner...does anyone else do this with theirs? Or would I be better off getting a seperate liner?

My other question is...I need to get a lightweight stroller for my hubby to use as he does far less walking than I, it would also be used on the train from time to time. I've only ever had Maclarens in the past but this time I am eyeing up a Britax Nexus. Would that be a silly move? Would I be better sticking to Maclarens?

Thank you all

morning all

well i think im going to have a pj day today lol.
hope ur all well

mrsseanbean · 24/01/2009 08:52

Hi all.
I am assuming this is a general pushchaor discussion/ questions thread.

If so, please can I ask if anyone has a Jane slalom 3 wheeler and has problems with the footbrake 'sticking'?

elmoandella · 24/01/2009 08:52

stay away from the britax. compared to a maclaren it'll be mince.

in winter i'd use the footmuff bottom as liner. in the summer i have liners of a more breathable material as footmuffs are usually fleecy and get far too hot.

elmoandella · 24/01/2009 08:54

pushchair has a slalom. she'll be on later. have you checked to see if there's anything in the braking mechanism?? do you use it over muddy terrain?? perhaps there's a build up of grit or mud or salt?

mrsseanbean · 24/01/2009 08:56

Oh thanks, will keep an eye out. Hmm. Nothing visible on the brakes, and mostly tend to use it on roads (although some of then are muddy). Perhaps it needs oiling or something, although I wouldn't have a clue where to put the oil.

mrsseanbean · 24/01/2009 08:57

Oh, and another question for pushchair, or anyone. Is there a 'universal' footmuff to fit the slalom?

elmoandella · 24/01/2009 08:58

the jane nest plus fits all jane and is one of the best on the market imo

Hopi · 24/01/2009 09:02

Thanks elmoandella I don't really need much more encouragement than that

Just out of interest...why would the Britax be mince compared to the Maclaren? It would only be used as an occasional stroller as the Toro is the main one and I didn't want to go spending Maclaren money on one that wouldn't be used that much, lol!

Anyone selling a second hand Maclaren that is suitable from birth and in good condition ?

nicolamumof3 · 24/01/2009 09:11

hi hopi, i had a toro v.briefly i think their seat liners are also fleece so may as well just use your liner? i would get a maclaren over a britax any day.

from birth you can only use the xt tho.

Hopi · 24/01/2009 09:17

Lol! Thanks nicola I guess I'm going to need the extra pennies to put towards the Maclaren. Think we will have to muddle through with the Toro until baby is 6 months though as I really don't like the xt's They are toooooooo big!

techno · 24/01/2009 09:23

morning all!!
how are we all?
very frosty morning here and i need to go to the post office
i am in need of a cheap walking buggy, must have big wheels, preferably air tyres for going round the lake and to the park, which is flooded at the moment, doesnt need to be anything fancy as more than likely will get caked in mud lol!!
heres the catch i would prefer a rear facer any ideas ladies?
ive looked at UD Quantum but looks too nice to drag through the mud!!

MrsMagooo · 24/01/2009 09:33

Morning all,

Welcome to the newbies

MrsSB I agree with Elmo, the Jane nest is lurvely, so thick & padded & super long too!

Nicola did you order your XT? It sounds fab from Elmo's description!

Elmo the fuchia nest looks lush on the XT!

carrielou2007 · 24/01/2009 09:34

Morning all.

Still undecided on the black xt, I just want to see on in the flesh so to speak before I go for it

Hopi how about a maclaren quest? They are from 3 months?? I have 2 at the moment a black one and a lulu guiness I love you one if you fancy??

Sold some more of my bugaboo bits, no going back now

Hopi · 24/01/2009 09:41

Hi carrielou

Are you selling either of your Quests? If so how much were you looking for?

Thanks

MrsMagooo · 24/01/2009 09:51

Aaawww Carrie hard to let go of a pram sometimes isn't it, I'm having that prob with the Buzz, I'm a bit sentimental about it!

carrielou2007 · 24/01/2009 09:56

Where abouts are you Hopi? I'm in Somerset you could have a look? I will be selling both my quests (bought a new triumph on thursday) but not sure which one yet, as going on holiday in 2 weeks and still undecided on which blessed buggy to take!!

The black quest is in lovely condition, a tiny chunk out of the one of the handles that's it. The I love you one has had a lot of use and though fabrics still a1 frame and wheels do show use. Was going to put covers on the better frame of the black one.

4andnotout · 24/01/2009 10:22

Morning all
pushchair the top arrived today and is fabby You can guess what dd3 will be wearing today.

Hopi · 24/01/2009 10:23

Ahh, Kent so a bit too far, lol! Although if you ever consider selling your Lulu Guinness covers seperately I would be more than happy to buy them from you

Hubby just spotted this new Maclaren model for 2009. What do you think? www.lesters-nurseryworld.co.uk/details.php?product=11774 I think I can get it for £110 if I'm lucky. Shall I go for it now or is it likely to come down in price soon?

carrielou2007 · 24/01/2009 10:44

Hopi I love that new colourway!! I will be selling the I love you covers after my hols (in case I take that buggy!!) so you could always have them as a spare/change they have the same lime green piping and harness as the one you linked to.

That is very very cheap if you can get it for that price, most places they are 150 (gulp).

Mrsseanbean my 3 wheeler the brake would stick and had to keep oiling and wd40 it every month or so. I thought this was a bit extreme but I did do a LOT of walking and offroading with it so suppose that's fair.

Hopi · 24/01/2009 10:57

Erk! Am about to order!!!!! Yikes

Hopi · 24/01/2009 10:59

Oooh, yes please carrie Can I have first refusal? I adore those covers My email address is [email protected] when you are ready to sell
