poor dd2 got turfed out of her buggy when dd3 came along when she was 2.6 and has had to walk since then unless she gets really tired and then we stick her on a footplate on the bumper bar of the duette

claret1980 · 23/01/2009 21:23

Oh Mrs M I would love your Buzz but just a bit out of my budget, I'm gutted now. Am watching one near me on ebay at the mo.

i wish ds would walk. he's almost 3 (nicola feb 06 and july 07)and is super skinny yet not interested in walkig at all. but dd is taking in interest. just have to train her to walk without diving off and crawling

onadietcokebreak · 23/01/2009 21:31

Hi ya everyone!

Been lusting after a petite star zia for the past year and after hijacked a poor man in a shoe shop and interrigating him I think im going to treat myself!

My one question is how big is the seat really? Is it likely my 15mth old will out grown it soon? Also does anyone use a buggy snuggle with it and does it fit ok/still fold ok?

4andnotout · 23/01/2009 21:32

Ahh we have that with dd3
Mine are
nov 01
march 05
sept 07
oct 08
Having a year off this year and will decide at xmas if we want another or if dp will have the snip. He thinks he is getting too old (44)

nicolamumof3 · 23/01/2009 21:34

still not gone yet!

um think petite star zia like a zapp so can't imagine buggysnuggle fitting v.well. if seats are similar size i've just got a zapp and my chunky 18m old fits in fine with plenty of room hth?

both ds want to walk elmo. i don't let luka out of pram tho if can help it cant have to wayward toddlers on loose! but i know i can't resist forever luka has no concept of me wanting to to go a certain way he wants his way or lays down and screams! great fun.

nicolamumof3 · 23/01/2009 21:36

4and my dp is 40 this year and says no more babies, but i'd love one more, thats why im thinking of training for childminding!!! i get made redundant in April so am thinking of starting september.
my oldest is 9 so 6.5yrs between him and middle one. then the last two are close together hate to think no more pg's or babies for me or prams!

carrielou2007 · 23/01/2009 21:37

Night Nicola, going to have a sleep on the black xt (well maybe or might buy it in a minute - does anyone want a lulu guiness quest??!!)

My dazzle is black on black, hardly used, sold the original raincover and bought the newer one that says 'dazzle' on it and bought footmuf and blanket but never used as dd too tall for it. Would say 85 plus post...

Onadietcokebreak I had a zia when dd was 10 months. I used a black quinny footmuff (other zapp users used to nearly break their neck trying to work out how dd was lying down in what they thought was a zapp as was a zia!!) seat not that big but big enough I would have said? Sold it only as I felt it very fimsy quality, folded with a bit of help fine with it on??

4andnotout · 23/01/2009 21:38

I keep telling him that as im only 26 we have plenty more baby years yet but he is a bit He worries we will have a boy which would ruin the bedroom sharing arrangements.

MrsMagooo · 23/01/2009 21:39

Claret what's your budget as could sell without the Snunkie & basket?

onadietcokebreak · 23/01/2009 21:45

Thanks nicola and carrie. I dont really know what to do. There is nothing at all wrong with my buggy but im bored!

claret1980 · 23/01/2009 21:46

Had a Petite Star Zia, had it a few months and got rid. I think its a marmite pram.

Didn't feel very sturdy for a start and the seat wasn't upright enough. Ds hated it.

BexieID · 23/01/2009 21:48

I had a buggysnuggle on my Zapp and it fitted ok.

claret1980 · 23/01/2009 21:50

Would need to sell XT before I get anything else. Would need carrycot as well as ds2 is only 10 weeks.

MrsMagooo · 23/01/2009 21:51

I've already sold the Dreami so would only come with seat unit - not sure what I'm going to do yet, can't decide....

tellnoone · 23/01/2009 22:07

Hi, I hear this is the place to come with pushchair questions!

I am disappointed with my Obaby atlas stroller, mainly the manouvrability (sp?!). Please see my thread: here (hope link works)

What pushchair is similar but better? Or would I be better with a 3-wheeler - are they easier to push?

carrielou2007 · 23/01/2009 22:11

Onadietcokebreak you don't have to convice us, I've bought 2 buggies in the last week (one just yesterday!!) it's not about what you need...

I have to say I really really loved the zia, was just a bit flimsy for the price I felt. I keep thinking of one again now dd is 2 but I am tall and it was pretty low for me. I hated to strap to adjust the lie back but otherwise I liked it.

elmoandella · 23/01/2009 22:19

tell - there's loads of better pushchairs than obaby. are you after umbrella folding or 3 wheeler?? what do you use it for?? how big is boot??

carrielou2007 · 23/01/2009 22:47

tellnoone tons of better buggies how old is your dc? I am totally converted to Maclaren (apart from my silver cross dazzle - actually I love most silver cross).

Off to bed (can't watch that Ulrika how has she won CBB??) night all.

BexieID · 23/01/2009 22:48

I'm not a Maclaren fan, but do like the look of the black XT.

tellnoone · 23/01/2009 23:39

DD is 16mo. I don't know whether I need umbrella or 3-wheeler (for manouvrability). I thought I wanted a small folding one for boot, but actually we have a big boot. Although going on holiday camping means I still probably need a small folding one. Maybe that rules out 3-wheelers, but I'm intrigued as to whether they are easier to push and manouvre, I've never tried them. My Dsis has one but lives far away so can't have a go, and don't know anyone else who has one.

mamadiva · 24/01/2009 07:39

Hey all,

tellnoone I have an 03 Sport 3 wheeler and an XT for my 2.6YO. If you do a lot of walking I'd go for the 3 wheeler because they are so smooth and turn quite well etc, I manage fine with mine on shopping trips and mine is one of the bigger 3 wheelers so manouvrability isn't bad they do turn pretty much in a circle so you just need the length of the pram whole way round you but you do get used to it.

The XT is better for using public transport or jumping in and out of cars as they fold a lot smaller and are generally more compact but I notice every little bump in the road but DS looks comfortable enough in it and it will probably be easier for shopping haven't tested that yet

Both have their advantages.

If you walk a lot get a decent 3 wheeler if you chuck it in car I'd get smaller one.

Or depnding on your budget you could get both 2nd hand on Ebay so you have the choice, I love being able to say right today I need this one because... kind of thing.
