anyone know how long le creuset stuff is guaranteed for and what should i do??

we have had a casserole dish for 8and a half yrs and jsut noticed now that there is a patch on the inside at the bottom that has come off/worn off. i am pretty sure they are meant to be guaranteed for a long time but i have no receipt anyway as it was a wedding present and pretty sure my mum wouldnt have kept the proof of purchase for that long!
even if i can get it replaced should i just try taking it back to the shop? i cant send it to le creseut it weighs a bloody ton!

can you prove you haven't used a metal spoon or used it on inappropriately high heat or scrubbed it with abrasive materials?

mmm, well i may have used abrasive scourers on it. but in my defence i thought i could!!

My mother has had Le Cruset the entire range, my whole life. It all does that, the casserole in particular. I think(and this is my own suspicion)it's caused by banging it down onto the oven. I know I put mine down more heavily than other pans as it's so damn heavy.

Having said that they work just as well,my mother has only ever had 2 casserole pans. Mine is fab even with it's patches,I think all that iron must be good for the dc too

I got mine from a French hypermarket so know I couldn't get a refund,not sure they would anyway as it does seem a common thing but no harm in trying I guess

Have a look on the Le Crueset and see if they say anything on there.
