dd1 is 8, dd2 is 3 they share a room

dd1 would sleep in darkness but doesn't mind a night light

dd2 would really like to have a night light
we had one but it was a china one that dh had when he was a kid and now doesn't work (lasted well though )

so we dont want tooo bright but very nice looking, cartoony, they like pink and purples, both very girly girls

hmmm we would lose it, she would run off with it as a torch

cute though and I googled and found a dora one

I think the candleoo ones are very cool, but I haven't been able to justify the price...

here

mrsbabookaloo · 10/01/2009 20:21

...ooh, have just remembered I've got amazon vouchers to use...hurrah!

IAmTheNewQueen - if you want one of those IKEA lights, I go past IKEA every day on my way home from work - I could pop in and get you one, then stick it in the post ...

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 10/01/2009 20:24

crochetdiva
that is a very kind offer
I'm afraid I will be taking a while to make my mind up though

really not sure what to choose just yet

I have the same one as mamadiva, and find that it's too light for a nightlight ... but she loves fiddling with the torch.

We have one of these for ds - and the same offer applies as for the pink-ish one!

CrochetDiva · 10/01/2009 20:27

well, let me know if you want me to get you one.

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 10/01/2009 20:33

thanks crochet

not conventional and not cheap but ds2 has this as his nightlight
it's the Aduki metallic silver light

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 10/01/2009 20:57

We have 2 different Go-glow torches for DS1 (3yo) and DS2 (1yo); DS1 has a Thomas the Tank engine one which isn't too bright as is mostly blue, and DS2 has the Night Garden one linked to before - it is quite a lot brighter as it is mostly white.

They both love them and DS1 uses his to 'read' books quietly in bed before he goes to sleep.

I'm sure that there is a pink version of the Night Garden One too - Argos may have them?

They are really fab nightlights

claireybrations · 10/01/2009 21:15

DD has this but I don't think they do it anymore

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 10/01/2009 21:27

is this too babyish for the 8 year old?

skramblenotdieting · 10/01/2009 23:08

My DS loves his Moon in my room. Nice glow and it has a remote control. DD has the rainbow in my room.

seeker · 10/01/2009 23:14

Try this. My dd got one for Christmas and she's 13 and loves it!

seeker · 10/01/2009 23:14

xpost with skramble!

Ashantai · 10/01/2009 23:58

My son also has the thomas go glow torch, 2 plug in night lights and his gloe bear

I love that moon nightlight, but maybe thats taking things a step too far

amidaiwish · 11/01/2009 09:41

my dds have the lumiloves which have been brilliant - act a bit like a lava lamp hypnotising them to sleep!

what about this more simple nightlight plug sensor light not sure how bright it is though and not girly

i have a free delivery code KF1ZZ140 if that is helpful.

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 12/01/2009 14:20

thanks everyone
I have decided on the go glow dora lamp
