My parents spent a lot of money on a Whirlpool consender tumble drier for us 13 months ago when our cheap, older vented tumble drier packed up.

The first one had lasted almost 10 years, was a real cheapy and did what it was meant to.

My parents we kind enough to replace it with a whizzy condenser version just before last Christmas and it has stopped working. Of course 1 month outside the guarantee - Whirlpool want to charge £90 plus parts to come and fix it.

I spoke to a local chap who deals with kitchen appliance repairs and he thinks the computer chip in it needs replacing, which will cost over £100 without labour etc! So, if Whirlpool come, it'll cost £90 labour and £100 parts - clearly may as well just buy a new one.

So, can anyone recommend a good, reliable and cheap tumble for me!??

can't advise on prices BUT we have bought 2 whiteknight ones in 8 years and both have been brill..(bought the 2nd as the 1st was a smaller load so not ideal when dd and ds arrived.)
