I've got an M reg Golf and want to order one of these. I'm not able to get it fitted anywhere so need to know if it would fit.

John Lewis have said it should do, but they can't garentee it and won't accept returns on car seats.

Call the Road Safety Officers at the In Car Safety Centre in Essex - they can advise over the phone. Their number and other contact details are on the www.rearfacing.co.uk website (listed as Road Safety Officers). They are financed by Essex County Council, but give impartial advice to all motorists. They should be able to tell you what seats are compatible with your vehicle.

BTW, look at the site whilst you're there - it contains some thoughtprovoking information about children's safety in forward facing seats, which may be of interest to you in about a year's time.

go to a real shop (eg big Halfords or Mothercare) and get them to fit it

you can always say you want to think about it and order online
