epson dx7400 ink cartridges......ok, boring i know!

when the "cartridges empty" screen comes up the cartridges still seem to have quite a bit of ink in them....is this normal??

dunno
if you give them a gentle rock they might keep going for a while longer

thanks, tried that.....if anyone is interested the manufacturer says they should still have ink in them when they have "run out"
