Hama Beads

DDs received this for christmas and what a lot of peace it has given me... i don't even mind picking the beads up from the floor (for now)

anyway, now they want me to iron the design but what paper do i use? What is "ironing paper" and is there an alternative - something i am likely to have in the house?

Greaseproof paper does it.

mine came with the ironing paper in the box. It does look like greaseproof paper tho.

oh, be careful though - some greaseproof works & some doesn't - I ruined a much-worked-on design by using some greaseproof I had which fused itself onto the beads. Never tried ordinary greaseproof since, but presumably it's worked for others ...

Anyway, if not using Hama's own paper, do a patch test, on some beads that are not a precious work of art!

Sorry I should have said I havent tried greaseproof paper myself-just read here. Is baking parchment the same thing?

Baking parchment is a bit more techy than ordinary greaseproof, so I can well imagine it would work better. (You can also get super-techy baking parchment that has a silicon coating - I use that when I'm baking as it makes things fool-proofly non-stick, which I need.)
