Anybody got one of these slings?

I mean one of these

They look good but the website doesn't have much info. I am looking for a sling that I can BF in very easily, while still being able to look after my DD, who will still be under 18months.

I have a ring sling, but never really figgured it out when DD was tiny and have only just used it for the first time with her the other day.

I haven't tried these, but I have a pouch sling which dd2 has used since birth and it is great for feeding while looking after my older two.

hth, bump in the morning and the experts will be about, I think there are 'slingmeets' which might help.

They have premaxx in John Lewis if you wanted a better look at one, and have JL near you.

Yes, we had one, and dh really loved using it. I wasn't so keen as it didn't distribute the weight very evenly across my shoulders and made my back very sore. Also, I've since come across some research which suggests they could be dangerous for newborns. Here is the original MN thread which showed me this page which made me bin our Premaxx sling.

We have a peanut shell and a Didymos wrap for dc2 now. The Premaxx isn't worth the hassle IMO.

You have shown me enough on that link to put me off IMO.

Thank you very much, you have just saved me spending £40.

No problems - wish I'd seen it before I bought our Premaxx!

Would definitely recommend the peanut shell btw. Much nicer fabrics (mine is fleece lined for my winter baby - lush!) and sooooo much nicer to wear!

please please dont by a premaxx

Check out
slingjax or bigmamaslings for some impartial advice.
Also if you can get to a slingmeet or ask slingjax and bigmama they have agents like me who are happy to demo for you and they do sling hire to make sure you get the right one for you

agree of my friends had a premaxx one and both hated it!

theSuburbanDryad · 02/01/2009 22:41

mrsleroy - I think it was you who alerted me to the danger of Premaxx slings on the thread I posted below.

they had peanut shell pouches in tk maxx for £15 today!!!

and simply good stretchy wraps for £25

Premaxx is good for older baby but i am a long time sling user and didn't like the babies positioning or the fact that baby disappeared inside.
