Do old Grobags retain their tog rating?

It's freezing in my place and while getting dcs ready for bed I suddenly wondered if dt1's hand me down grobag is still 2.5 tog or if after repeated washing/use the tog rating wears out? Anyone know?

I don't know, but DS2's second-hand 2.5 tog grobag is noticeably thinner than his new one. He doesn't seem to complain more of the cold when wearing it though, so not sure if it's actually less warm or not?

Good question and I don't know the answer sorry. I use a merino kids baby sleeping bag so don't need to worry about TOGS cos the natural merino fabric regulates baby body temp so they don't get too cold or hot. My merino kids baby sleep bag has been through two babies and years of wear, countless washes, and still looks and functions as good as new.
