Hi, I love Yankee candles but have never been able to burn them properly.

They either end up tunneling or I dont get a deep wax pool that other people seem to get. I trim the wick and have one of the illuma lids but still my wax pool take ages to get to the edge of the jar and then it is only very shallow. I always leave my candles burning for over 4 hours and yesterday I had it going nearly all day but still no deep wax pool.

Any ideas? x

Do you trim the wick before the first burn or leave it and do you put a lid on the first burn?

just light them and let them go to be honest, neve trim or anything and usually just leave the shade on.

ok thanks, perhaps I should try doing that. Do you get a deep wax pool as mine is usually only about half a centimetre? x

about a cm, depending on the size of the jar, just looked at a new one I started about mid day, and actually it is burning slanted!

Have turned it will see what it is like tomorrow.
