This seller is a scam. Bugaboo do not supply to anyone apart from their own choices (John Lewis, Mothercare and a few other places) Also the Bugaboo Frog is no longer made in the UK so will not be sent direct from Bugaboo. These are cheap cheap and I know they will be tempting for new parents, but I guarentee you will not recieve your item if you buy. Also the seller is asking for cheques or Postal orders, as they know that Paypal will hold the payments until postive feedback is left, therefore making the scam not work.

ToysAreLikeDogs · 29/12/2008 10:27

Thanks for the warning SGK

SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 10:29

have reported lots of their listings for fraud.

How do you know sgk - they've got good feedback, I guess you're right but wondering how you can tell?

Hope you don't know someone who's been stung

SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 10:49

Its the classic building up feedback with small items, then listing expensive items cheaper than it costs the shops to buy them, then it comes direct from supplies and will take 14 days.. also they don't want PP.

My sister was scammed 2 years ago by a similar thing to the tune of £350!!

OP posts:
pooka · 29/12/2008 10:53

I remember that - sister being scammed. Gutting.

The feedback only relates to small purchases. Nothing big and no bugaboos yet.

SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 10:57

also the Frog isn't made in the UK anymore, so unless they are shipping from the USA (how much would that be??) then I know this is scam!!!

OP posts:
Flihgtattendant · 29/12/2008 10:57

oh I see - thankyou. i think the classic 'looks too good to be true' thing prob applies here as well

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 29/12/2008 10:58

would strike me as odd that they've sold 6 random things, then suddenly have 10 Bugaboo's to sell!!

SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 11:00

its more than 10!! go into their other items, its about 10 Cams, 10 frogs and 10 Bees, cosytoes, adapters, and travelbags

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 11:00

sorry 40 Cams!!!

OP posts:
goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 29/12/2008 11:01

oh - I just saw 10 on the listing you'd linked to - hadn't looked at their other items.

SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 11:03

very strange. When I saw them, I was like 'oooooooo' then I looked into it, and there is no way this is on the level. People sell second hand Cams for more than that!

OP posts:
foxytocin · 29/12/2008 11:09

another way to have 'good' feedback is to use multiple identities from different IP addresses and/or getting friends/business partners who are in on the scam to also leave you positive feedback.

SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 11:11

did think about making an account and then buying them all and neg-ing them.

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 11:14

but then thought I would just try and warn people, this thread comes up in a google search now, if you search their name so hopefully people will google them first if they are worried.

baublerock · 29/12/2008 13:09

Who left the feedback then??? Well done that Mum!!

SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 13:14

I know who it is lol

OP posts:
baublerock · 29/12/2008 13:17

shit - he's already sold 4 and has lots of pending offers, all today - they are gonna be scammed - can you contact them all using the new account?? Urge them not to send payment.

baublerock · 29/12/2008 13:19

I think a few are genuine buyers but some are trying to stop him - one person bought 8 so I guess they are trying to end the auctions.

SparklyGothKat · 29/12/2008 13:20

I contacted one person via my normal account. I don;t have a dummy account, will ask the other mum to contact them

OP posts:
goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 29/12/2008 13:21

hopefully you can contact the buyers and warn them before they lose out
