Toddler pushchair

I only signed up this evening and I think I've managed to post a question to an old thread. I'll try again. I'm hoping for some advice on replacing a 2007 Quinny Buzz. We have a 14 month old son who is both tall and heavy for his age and we can no longer fasten the straps around him when he has a coat on. Everything we read beforehand suggested it should last us until he was 3, so we are rather disappointed to say the least! We are also having problems with steering and with the front wheel locking up. I don't think we have much choice but to look for a replacement fairly urgently. We walk a good few miles with it every day so it needs to be hard wearing. Also I think I have been put off 3 wheelers by the Quinny experience. Can anyone recommend a pushchair particularly suited for larger toddlers? Any advice very gratefully received! Thanks...

My Urban Detour buggy (mothercare) fits my daughter who is 4 and a half. I can actually fit in the seat! It pushes easily with her in it.
same as this one

Bugaboo cam, fantastic for lots of walking or around the shops. I also love 3 wheelers but they are a beast to store. I would go for a mountain buggy, should fit until about age 5.

If you walk a lot, many 'big' pushchairs still have plastic wheels so they are not terribly comfy for little one and will wear out quickly.

i know you said you were put off 3 wheelers but I would highly recommend a mountain buggy. you can pick them up relatively cheaply from ebay.

they are really built to last, won't fall apart on you. my tall nearly 4 yr old can fit comfortably in the seat of ours still.

Think I've read about extenders for straps. You could try a search through old threads. Or if you are completely disillusioned then I would recommend a Maclaren. Or a different three wheeler- a more all terrain one like a Jane [I have a Slalom] or Moutain Buggy are often said to fit up to 4 years and can be gotten off ebay cheaper.

Maclaren Techno - are you talking pavement walks or off road walks?

Baby jogger are fab 3 wheelers that are great for taller children. My understanding is that quinny will send you exptension straps as this is a known design fault on the buzz seat.

Thanks everyone. I'd no idea this was such a brilliant source of information. It sounds like it is definitely worth contacting Quinny about extensions. I'm just about to have a look on ebay for Mountain Buggys. If people can fit 4 year olds in that sounds well worth investigating. It is grandad who does the walking during the day and it seems to be a mixture of off road and pavements...
