Hulababy · 29/12/2008 23:12

XC90?

If so we hired one for a week for 7 of us (4 adults, 3 children) to go to Disneyland Paris.

What do you want to know?

dinny · 29/12/2008 23:14

doh, yes, that's what I mean

did you like it, basically

I really like them and think it'd work as car for family of 5 brilliantly...

Dinny, our last car was an XC90.

Great in a lot of respects

.It was nice to drive though fairly sluggish and needed some thinking time when you put your foot down! Spacious with a HUGE boot, though leg room in the back two rows was a bit limited. We once had a 6footer in the third row, he got in but dont think was partic comfy, they are def. more suited to smaller children!
Very, very thirsty! The cost of fuel and the immininet rise in car tax, wil be in the region of £400 when tax increases come in 2009, were the main reasons we got rid.

Does that help at all?

dinny · 30/12/2008 19:25

Tobermory - fab, thank you

We are after a diesel automatic, but expect it will be sluggish acceleration after what you say

but we mainly want a safe car that's large enough for us and luggage and occasional grandparents/friends

oh, and it has to be able to get up a near-vertical unmade REALLY rocky road of about a mile and half to get to horse riding, lol - could it do that?? I should test drive it up there, thinking about it!
