there doesn't seem to be much difference - the bebepod is actually soft and squidgy like foam not hard like a potty and the bumbo we tried felt much the same. It is just that the bebepod has a smoother surface (which I preferred for cleaning) so in the pictures it looks hard. I found my (tiny for his age) son sat better in the bebepod so if you can, it may be worth visiting mothercare or somewhere and trying them both.

No difference- but my ds was only in his for about a week- we got it for him at about 4 months iirc, but he worked out very quickly how to make himself rigid and topple out I'd honestly save your money

littlelamb is right whatever you get make sure it is one with a tray DS could get out easily without it but with the tray in place he used to love watching his dad do DIY til he was about 8 months and already crawling. We used it as a little highchair too which he liked.

well there is one for a fiver on netmums sale board but with no tray i think....my dd2 loves sitting up (but shes not old enough to sit in one of those yet but thought thats a bargain and i can have it ready for when she can supports her body on her own)

can probably get a tray on ebay.

and you might find your DD is not a diver anyway so wouldn't need a tray. We've kept ours for next time (can you guess I'm broody ) as it was so useful. At a fiver it is probably worth a try. Have a look on ebay as depending on where you are in the country there are a few really cheap ones on at the moment for collection.

i had a bebepod and both my (lazy) boys sat happily in it for several months. i preferred the look of the bebepod the colours etc only reason why i bought that over a bumbo and slightly cheaper at the time. they are just as soft as a bumbo.
