Petit star ZIA any good for newborns?

I bought this pram of someone in October for my DD she only wanted £40.00 and I just needed a little buggy for shopping because she was was walking everywhere else .
She didn't like it so it has just been sat in corner gathering dust .

I do not know one pram from another and was going to put it on freecycle ,until I went on Mothercare and have seen they are quite a popular pram ...so my baby is due in May do you think it would be worth just using this pram (and buying the footmuff) does anyone have one and are they really as good for newborns as everyone is saying ,because my toddler hated it .

Don't think it would make any difference to a newborn TBH. It lays flat doesn't it? Buy a footmuff and a head support should be fine.

They don't mind as long as they are cosy and are looked aftre if you don't mind LO not facing you then wouldn't bother.

If you fancy a lightweight rear facing pushchair A friend of mine has this and she loves it as does baby

ComeWhineWithMe · 20/12/2008 16:49

Yes the front facing thing is bugging me a bit ,plus I had my heart set on a big chicco travel system ,its just the tightarse in me wondering if it will do .

thankyou.

Ach if you have the money I'd go for it. I had a big rear facingpram when DS was younger but by about 8 months he hated not being able to see what was goin on in front of him so... waste of time

I wouldnt, but i have a thing about babies laying completely flat. You could sell on ebay and then put it towards a newborn recommended one
Please know the thing with travel systems is you have to be careful how long babies stay in the car seat part, as its bad for their little spines (sorry dont want to sound bossy )

Isaidkissmeunderthemistletoe · 20/12/2008 17:16

It is flat enough for a newborn. I have been using it since birth, with the footmuff to make it more cosy. My dd is 6 mths now and is fine in it.

lisad123 · 20/12/2008 17:17

but it doesnt lay totally flat does it?

ComeWhineWithMe · 20/12/2008 17:30

I had a chicco travel system for dd3 and only used the carset when in car .

I wish I had kept it I loved it ,plus this baby is going to be a summer baby and I love the idea of her laying in the carrycot bit ,my other dd loved hers .

The ebay idea is good but I hate selling on it its a PITA ,might just freecycle it or post it on here FFP .

Thanks for all the advice .

what colour zia is it?

jingleMAMADIVAsbells · 20/12/2008 17:39

I'd just sell it on for £50 inc postage on here because it's what you paid for it so you're just getting your mony back on it.

ComeWhineWithMe · 20/12/2008 17:42

Its red .

I know SGK was after one, she has a zapp but does not lay down at all, so no good for her little one if he wants a nap

ComeWhineWithMe · 20/12/2008 17:48

Well let her know if she can arrange a courier /pick up she can have it ,it has an extra hood and raincover .

I am in Sheffield BTW.

Aah okay.

Is it in good condition and does it have a large seat?

I'd take it off your hands if it is suitable for a large 2.5YO boy

ComeWhineWithMe · 20/12/2008 17:52

My DD was 2.5 and she hated it and she isn't massive and I think that was the reason the lady befpre me got rid because her toddler hated it ,but if SGK dosen't want it you can have it .

aww thanks, Lisa just let me know about this. I brought a Zapp but decided to sell it yesterday as it doesn't lay flat and Callum still naps twice a day.

Can I ask does the zia feel stable with a toddler in it? My DS is 15mths and I have been trying to justify buying a zia for ages.

Does it really fold down that small?

ComeWhineWithMe · 21/12/2008 11:31

It folds really tiny . My toddler was 2.5 and I didn't like it pushing her in to TBH but it may have just been me and my fussy dd .

OP posts:
aidansyummymummy · 21/12/2008 12:45

Its the folding really tiny bit thats appealing to me....want to get a much smaller car!
