Well I am an 8 and mine are an Aus 10 (well the label says W10) - they were sold as a UK 8 & they are perfect (I lurve them!)

MrsSanta · 18/12/2008 18:07

thanks Ponders, might go for 7.5 as 8 may be too big.

Where are you buying them from? They are cheap at snug australia - p&p is £10 for one pair but still way cheaper than normal here.

They only do ½ sizes in men's though - 7½ men's = 7 women's. I am a large 8 so you should be OK with a 7 (or you could send them a measurement in inches & ask which to get).

moondog · 18/12/2008 18:17

Don't buy any. They are minging and also people never walk in them properly so feet look deformed.

crazyloon1 · 18/12/2008 18:18

I have got a pair of the long locarno ones and they are I think a 41/ 7.5, I am usually either 7 or 8 and they are very big on me.

I was told to get smaller size fwiw, but they were ebay bargain so just went for it. You're meant to wear without sockage anyway for some reason. I have to wear thick socks with mine.

Oh also i think the skin stretches the more you wear them, so they grow iyswim.

crazyloon1 · 18/12/2008 18:19

i would even say 6.5 or 7.

Ponders · 18/12/2008 18:48

They are not minging, I do walk in them properly (if people don't walk properly that's their gait, not the Uggs) & my feet have been warmer this cold winter (without socks) than they've ever been before. (People get very bossy about Uggs, like Crocs, I can never think why )

Mine are these

MrsSanta · 18/12/2008 19:06

thanks everyone.

Ponders, they are not the "real" Uggs.

SueW · 18/12/2008 19:28

There's no such thing as real uggs.....

flubdub · 18/12/2008 19:31

How do you mean SueW?

louii · 18/12/2008 19:32

That would be why i put inverted commas round real

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 18/12/2008 19:35

Mine are a 6 and i am a 5 1/2 and they are actually a little big so would reccomend go smaller
i got mine from here free delivery and sometimes a code knocking about on saving money thread on here too!

louii · 18/12/2008 19:35

Uggs are a generic name for those type of boots, so anyone can use the name Ugg.
The celeb favoured "real" Ugg boots are these, www.yoyosilver.com/product_info.php?cPath=33_87&products_id=545 note the Ugg Austalia trademark with the larger G in the middle.

Ponders · 18/12/2008 20:47

Ohhhhh - didn't know that .

Mine are "real" Uggs then (not from snug, from M&M when all they had was half-price size 8s) but my daughter has cheapie Emus from amazon & is v happy with those & I imagine those snug Uggs would do just as well?.

MrsSanta · 18/12/2008 21:37

Thanks louii did know ther were so many types,

Incidentally the site I posted is the cheapest for Uggs i have coem across, quick delivery, took about a week.

SueW · 19/12/2008 08:45

Actually if you search lots of brands you can see 'As worn by':

British Made Celtic Sheepskin

Emu celebs

It's just like many things - one brand has become 'it' because of marketing/PR.

If what you want is a sheepskin boot for comfort and warmth, any genuine sheepskin will do. Personally I prefer to buy British than something Made in China but branded Australian. Or alternatively I'd buy/ask friends or family in Oz/NZ to buy me any pair of genuine sheepie boots and ship them over.

Ponders · 19/12/2008 11:09

sue, the snug ones are made in Australia

I was going to get some more from there anyway, not knowing about the branding diff - I still will, and new liners for when the bottoms get flattened.
