My DS1 has been asking for one for Xmas, having seen the ads on TV. I've bought one but now I'm looking at the packet and it says you need two - one red and one blue. Is this something you need two people to play with or can you use it on your own?? DS2 is only just 5 and I'm not sure if he'd be able to use it if I bought another one (and not sure I want to buy another one cos I thought I'd finally done all my xmas shopping!!) Any advice much appreciated.

I aksed this very question months ago on here and got zero response so am happy to be able to help!
DS2 is 7 and wanted one - he has just got one and plays with it by himself fine. It's slightly unclear how to catch the beasts - he is pretty good on tamagotchis and so forth but DH had to go through the instructions with him on this one.

Thanks for such a quick reply!! I think from reading the packet that you need two in order to trade beasts but it's pretty unclear and the website was no help whatsoever! OK, no extra trip to the shops required - phew! His birthday is in Feb so I might buy the other one then and he can train DS2 to play with him
