Is there any such thing as a double buggy which is rear-facing?

Ideally, as it would be for a toddler and a newborn, the newborn bit would be rear-facing and the toddler bit would be forward-facing! However, my boss pointed out to me the other day that my perfect double buggy would be one based on the design of a shopping trolley - and in fact I wondered about just using a shopping trolley! Hey - it would be perfect, and it would only cost £1!!!

Any advice welcomed!

The reason the first wheels one is from 6 months is cos it's a bucket seat so baby is always in a sitting position iyswim and you tilt the seat backwards.

theSuburbanDryad · 10/12/2008 18:29

Isn't that the same as the Quinny Buzz/Bugaboo whatsit though?

My friend has one. I'll ask her what make it is.

I'm hoping to mainly use a sling and stroller, but ds still sleeps well in the buggy. and I'd feel mean chucking him out of the buggy and making him walk. Also, I'd like the option of being able to force put him in the buggy when he's being a little shit challenging without the potential of him kicking the baby in the sling on my front when he's in full on meltdown mode!

I have a mamas & papas duette which in total cost me around £100. It has a carrycot for dd4 and a seat unit for dd3. Both can either rear face or forward and there are loads of combinatons, car seat clicks on too for when there are no dry trollies in tesco

I'm after a rear facing double buggy too, but all the side-by-side ones are far too wide to get past in our hall... the Firstwheels one does look good though! It's one of the narrowest too (80cm).

How about the ABC Design Zoom? You don't seem to be able to buy a single carry cots in the UK, just stupid packages

Do you still have relatives in Holland? If so you can get the carry cot separate here.

'tis not cheap so am scouring ebay...

Hmmmm, the Dutch site isn't linking properly, you need to click on the picture in the bottom right...

nappyaddict · 10/12/2008 20:53

NotanOtter · 10/12/2008 20:57

theSuburbanDryad · 11/12/2008 09:10

I asked my friend and she said they don't make hers anymore (Bertini), but that Emmaljunga make the same thing.

nappyaddict · 11/12/2008 17:07

you can get the bertini ones on ebay.

MrsFogi · 12/12/2008 17:28

Don't get an iCandy Pear if you actually want to be able to put your toddler in it + the carrycot is rubbish.

nappyaddict · 17/12/2008 17:19
