Ok. Own up P&T users. Is there anything WRONG with a Phil and Teds Sport (with doubles kit.......)

before I go out and buy one?
Not as keen on the Vibe, seems a bit excessive pricewise!, and looks smaller than the Sport.
Try to put me off please, so i can go and look at one objectively!

I have sport, does shopping (rarely as I don't take DC's) fields, woods, mud, beach, tracks. So for me it's good.

moondog · 09/12/2008 22:33

I loved mine.
Bit cumbersome to fold and put in boot but I loved it.

ilovemydog · 09/12/2008 22:39

It's like wrestling a rather large eel

But would you want a flimsy thing to put your kids into? It's quite robust, and has been battered in North Wales, Cornwall and various baggage carriers have had a bash at it.

EsmeWeatherwax · 09/12/2008 22:42

I like it, although I haven't had mine long enough for it to irritate me, and won't need the doubles kit for a while yet...dc2 due in April. It's got an excellent raincover, is really easy to put together. I also love the harness, lovely long straps and really easy to put my part-octopus dd in.

Not really helping there, eh? Its quite heavy, and not the easiest to get up and down...

moondog · 09/12/2008 22:42

Aye
Mine probably made 30 flights over space of three years and was none the wrose for it.

The doubles seat has an annoying bar that runs along the top of it which when you try and recline your toddler stops them from being able to lie back once they get to about age 1. My DS now has to snooze in his back seat whilst sitting bolt upright, which he can manage to be fair, but it was great when I could recline him when he was smaller. The Vibe apparently fixes this.

Other than that I love it. Apart from putting it in the boot.

P&T Dash about to come out - this week I think in London anyway. Price between the Vibe and Sport off to look at in tomorrow. Both seats fully reclinable and seats more padded than a sport is all I know. Depends how urgently you need it. Local pram shop raving about it but will report back when I see it with my own eyes.

tvfriend · 10/12/2008 09:08

Saw the Dash last week as was in a local pram shop when a lady came in with one (had bought it in NZ). Have deliberated long and hard about sport v Vibe and am now going to get a dash if it comes in before baby born in Jan/Feb otherwise will get a Sport. Vibe is just too huge and cumbersome. Dash has the handlebar brake and the plastic foot well which the Sport doesn't.
The ladies in the shop got VERY overexcited when they saw the dash as they have been waiting for it since the summer. They have been told they'll get it in Jan/early Feb (SW London).

Oh no!! More choice! off to look at Dash on P&T site.......

Just an update! when to compare sport and vibe today - the vibe is bulkyier and seems more fiddly than the sport. The bar on the toddler seat is still there, but padded. The brake on the sport was quite stiff but everything else looked good. IMO, not worth the extra cost for a vibe but will defo buy a Sort

In Mothercare they said def go for the Vibe (funnily enough as it costs more ) but in both the small independent shops I've been too, when pushed, they've both said they MUCH prefer the Sport and don't think the Vibe is worth it..

nicolamumof3 · 12/12/2008 20:43

i wouldn't personally listen to 'mothercare' what do they know eh?!! lol. not much in my experience!

Anyway have sport, i LOVE it flexible, hardy, great round shops great in forest, on beach through muddy fields on fireworks night etc, etc, etc.

niggles are yes bar on doubles seat (but we overcome this by adding our own cushion/padding) hard to put on break. but thats about it.

What alot of people don't realise when looking for a double there is nearly always a compromise, but with the p&t sport there is very little ime. Good luck!
