I wouldn't buy a Graco travel system. I had a second hand one when dd was born as I really couldn't afford anything else but I had ditched it for a Mclaren 8 weeks later as it was just so BIG. It's nice to buy new things for a new baby, especially if its your first, but I would say that there are bargains to be had second hand- check out the for sale section in your local paper- so many people make the wrong choice first time that it will probably be full of listings for nearly new prams. I couldn't even sell mine when I'd finished with it so I ended up giving it to charity! What kind of lifestyle do you have? Do you need it on the bus, in a car? If you never need to get public transport or fold it down inside then it might be an option.

i have a car.. which was why i looked at it cos of the build in car seat.. the reason i thought it looked good too was cos it was like 150 quid in my local asda.. which i didnt think was to bad in comparison of what other prices i'd seen.. i wish there was something which told you what the perfect pram would be for you.. lol.. thank you littlelamb.. how did you find your mclaren one? ill deff start looking in the paper.. x

Mclaren was good- it was a Quest. But I bought it because dd had to be in nursery from 8 weeks (I was at uni and had to go back for the new term) so I needed somehting that was small enough to fold up and leave there. It is very small and light, I could literally lift the whole thing, with her in it, if I needed to get up a flight of stairs. It did only face outwards though, which is not ideal for such a small baby. Also, it's not recommended that babies spend too much time in a car seat anyway- you are better off looking for a cheapy pram that lies totally flat (you'll be surprised how many you can find just in charity shops or car boot sales, as people really do just use them for the first few months) and then spend your money on a maclaren.

ooh brill.. i was after a pram which like.. faced inwards.. that then faced outwards.. i dont think im making those up.. but its possible.. will have a look what local car boot sales are on as i dont know my area too well. (which is poor.. oops..having lived here for a year).. thanks for your help.. x

have you looked at baby jogger city mini? also very cheap, and you can attach a maxi cosi (the best for safety) car seat to it for the first year your DC can be rear facing. have a look on kiddicare.com. Another great option is a mamas and papas pramette, or mamas and papas pliko with carrycot. these both face inwards in the beginning, then are pretty useful pushchairs, and you can buy lots in great qulity from ebay. good luck!

OP join us on puschair chat we will find thr right pram for you!

There are lots that will face and then face forwards, pliko, pliko switch, silver cross 3d, lots and lots more.

Graco are really terrible quality and very plasticky though each to their own and all that.

The other thing is that you need to think about a car seat that fits your car. If you uses one that you clip onto the buggy you can not have baby in it for more than 2 hours as does not lie flat so bad for their spine.
