the people I used to work for had a fab one. it was really basic, very lightweight frame and just fabric seat which I think may have reclined ever so slightly. basic little hood and that's it. no swivel wheels, but great for going off-road.

I don't want a mountain buggy, too expensive even second hand. thinking of some of the really old, original 3-wheeler type things. I want to buy as cheap as poss, but need some makes to put into ebay!

anyone have any ideas?

We have an old Mothercare one which sounds like your original one - was £60 when Mum bought it about 8 yrs ago. i expect they do a similar one now

thisisyesterday · 07/12/2008 21:06

that's kind of the thing. the one I used to use was reeeeeeeeeeeally basic though, literally just a single piece of fabric for the seat. basic frame. nothing else.
totally no frills and it was fab, folded down tiiiiny too.
the kidabout isn't bad though, have just googled that

the urban detour is quite heavy isn't it?

heavyish to lift but I can push mine with 2 children on it with my little finger so light to push IYKWIM

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 07/12/2008 21:11

LOL thisisyesterday, ours is SO basic but as you say, fab. I have looked for it on ebay but they all seem to have swivel wheels now

thisisyesterday · 07/12/2008 21:16

It is a Mothercare one but has no 'name' on it (too basic!). It has green fabric with orange piping and just has a clip at the back which you feed the strap through to recline it. It's simplicity is its magic. I can't think where else to look tho than on ebay and i couldn't see any on there

thisisyesterday · 07/12/2008 21:34

ahh right. i think a lot of the really, really basic ones are just not made any more, hence my need for ebay, but it's so hard searching without a brand or something to look for

have spent ages today trawling through millions of quinny buzzes and petite star wotsits and no luck at all!

actually, something like the landrover pegasus is similar too. but a bit expensive

I got an urban detour off ebay for £37 and its brilliant, the best pram I have ever had. It's great off-road.

MERLYPUSSEDASAFART · 07/12/2008 22:48

Look for a nipper. If it's a 360 you can lock the front wheel. It weighs about 9kg but is quite large when folded. You'd probably get the non-swivvly wheel one cheaper as they are the older model. I have a 360 and it's fab.

Nipper is only 7kg! apparently....
