Photo calendars - any recommendations? Anyone used Vistaprint?

Hi. Trying to organise personalised calendars for the grandparents but not sure which are the best. Got a leaflet from Vistaprint advertising calendars at 99p each. There are loads of catches though including huge postage costs! Still works out at marginally cheaper than most other places (just under a tenner per calendar incl postage) Has anyone used them? I designed one online and it looked quite lovely but I'm slightly worried they might be cheap and nasty in RL.
Any other photo companies anyone can recommend? Tried Tesco photo shop but all the photos I want to use have already been edited and I can't get them to fit right on the Tesco calendar.
Thanks!

I used Photobox and they were very good.

I ordered some from Vista Print a couple of weeks ago. They look great. I opted for a glossy finish and the card is quite thick too. I agree, the extra charges are a bit cheeky so they're not as 'cheap' as they claim, but from what I recall I paid around £24 in total for 4 calendars which arrived very quickly eventhough I'd not paid for particularly speedy delivery. They will inundate you with promotional emails constantly after you've ordered though so be warned!

Thanks, Mejon - can I ask you a couple of questions?

Is there a glossy finish on each page or just the front - I was wondering if it might be difficult to write on.

I was thinking of opting for the 14-day delivery as it is cheaper but still in time for Xmas. Is that you one you chose?

I'll check out photobox too, Jackstini.

Aldi do good ones and they are cheap too. I got some last year for the Grannies

SweetApril - sorry only just checked back. The photo is on glossy card then the actual calendar grid bit is on 'normal' card (the reverse of the next months' picture). I'm not sure if I've explained that properly - what I mean is the photo and the grid are on different pieces. Having said that, due to the way the calendars have been printed, the photo on the cover isn't glossy as its the reverse of January's photo (does that make sense?!)

I think I went for the 14 day delivery but I did order at the beginning of November so they may not have been that busy then. Hope that helps.

Vistaprint have some free offers on at the moment so may work out cheaper than their leaflet. My mother's done some from them and they are OK -- not brilliant quality, but OK. And I like that you can add your own memorable dates.

Photobox are always good quality on everything, I find.

Mejon - makes perfect sense
Thanks, everyone. Only supposed to be a stocking filler so need it to be fairly reasonable. Don't have an Aldi near me so might try and brave vistaprint.

snapfish?

Jackstini · 04/12/2008 23:19

Aldi is done online so you don't need one near you - here you go www.aldiphotos.co.uk/

Photobox calendars are excellent quality IMO - they have a 3 for 2 offer on at the mo.
