Who can tell me about Sylvanian Families please?

Thinking of getting something like this for dd this year with additional items from family.

Is it worth the money and what would you recommend please?

It is good stuff; we have got it for dd's dolls house - just the right size. Good detail and pretty solid without being horribly chunky. Be careful as there are lots of little little little bits - easily swallowed, not to mention, lost!
