DDs (5) and (9) have requested rollerblades for Christmas. I know nothing about them. Any advice about makes, sizes, where to get them, and anything else. (Shall be getting all the protective gear too, BTW.)

Is it really so boring? This is the second thread I've started on this subject to a resounding silence. Or is it just self-evident?

It's not self-evident to me. DD1 (7) has also asked for rollerblades and I also don't know where to start. Sorry I can't help but I'll second your request .

Don't know if this will help but I know from personal experience the plastic ones are incredibly uncomfortable, take the skin of your ankles, don't know if you can get reasonable soft ones. Roller boots (quads) might be more comfy.

Have a look on eBay - there are loads there. I think you get them the same size as their shoes. Personally, I would avoid gimmicky makes like the Bang on the Door ones, but that is just my personal preference.

Thank you to every one that replied. Feel free to add if you have any suggestions,

Thanks....
