Maclaren's - about to buy, should I pay extra for a Techno

Hi all

I'm about to buy a Maclaren. We're after something small folding to go in the back of the car as our pram is huge and takes up most of the boot. I want something decent that will last as I know at some point it will probably become my main pushchair when lo is a bit older and I get fed up of lugging around the big one (which I love at the moment). So, I was going to buy a Quest and have just found a great price on Boots, but the Techno is now less than what I was originally going to spend on the Quest. Its about £23 more than the Quest, is it worth spending the extra money and getting the Techno or should I stick with the Quest and use the extra money to get a lovely buggy snuggle or something? Answers on a postcard please!

techno if the handle height is ok with you.

What's the difference on the handle heights? I had a play with the Quest yesterday but haven't even looked at the Techno because it was well over what we wanted to pay.

well i find them too tall for me, and dont like the hard handles. dh loves the techno though.

Oh, I'm only 5'3, the Quest felt quite comfortable when I gave it a little push around mothercare yesterday.

We have a techno and it has always been our main pushchair. it is now over 4 years old, survived 2 kids and about to be used on a third. All we have had to replace so far is the hood which only cost 20 euros.
I would definitely recommend the techno.
I don't know the differences between it and the Quest, the techno does have adjustable handle height which we have found useful with relatives (on the short side) using it and us (on the tall side!).

I have both quest (lovely condition stil) for dd who is 7 used from 2/4 years. When ds born got m&s pramette great until plane broke it.
Got a techno purely because he is very tall for his age and when I put him in the quest and he arched his back feet touched the ground. Just a tip really for boys as they are generally taller. With the techno he cannot do that even now at 3.

I would go for techno bit more snug and roomey.

Hope that helps.

Oh my god. I've just realised that if you spend over £75 you get 1500 extra points. So, I've just got a Techno XT for £86.12 with a total of 2188 points which are worth £21. So I've effectively bought a Techno for £65. Bargain!! Thanks everyone for persuading me, I was all ready to go for the Quest, so glad I looked again at the Techno. How exciting!!

Me and DD love her techno. Tried out quest but techno seemed comfier. I was like you, wasn't sure if worth paying extra for, but it did seem more sturdy and roomy.

Oops belated advice since you have just bought

jingleMAMADIVAsbells · 01/12/2008 09:40

Ooh fab offer passed ooh wonder if I can scrape some together? hmmmm.... £65 you say....

passedwitsend · 01/12/2008 09:42

Hate to pressure but the extra points offer ends today! I was almost tempted to buy 2 and sell one on ebay, bound to get more than that for it, but I resisted!
