I've had a peek in the archives. Who would have guessed there was so much to be said about them!

Don't have the energy to trawl through them all. Will anyone take pity and gimme a link to the most comprehensive thread?

The other thing I wasn't as keen on with the Darla "range" was that all the branded accessories are shiney slippery satin and look poncy. Her clothes are nice though. As I said though Anabel (and chou chou) branded accessories will fit.

The cradle looks lovely though.

If it was me with an unlimited buget and a nearly 4yo I would probably go for the £25 Anabel in tesco. Darla second choice. If budget is more of an issue - then personally I would decide what you want out of the doll.

If you want a gimick go for the poorly Chou chous half price in Tesco (£15). If the idea of feeding and shitting appeals go for Baby Born - someone said she is half price in Argos. If you want teh crying gurgling ind then I would go for Darla.

At teh end of the day they will all be loved by the child.

We went for the baby born as dd1 had baby annabell last year and left her out in the rain (baby born is water proof) also we got fed up with the noise of baby annabell by boxing day and it seemed to cry more than a real baby. Dd hardly played with annabell as it doesn't real do much (apart from cry). Baby born does alot more and can go in the bath.

Elc do a doll simalar to Annabell. Also Tesco's were selling 'Chou Chou my first tooth' dolls yesterday for £14.99 (less than half price).

I have bought dd2 'my first baby annabell' for christmas as she's only 2.5 and just wants a soft doll to lug around.

DoNot - I had a good browse in ToysRUs and plumped for the Darla doll. She's really sweet!
