What console would you recommend for 2 ADULTS?

I was planning on getting an XBox360 (for DP...but I may use it) as they have really come down in price and there are some fantastic deals ATM.

DP has suggested he would rather have a Wii.

Can you get a good selection of games and genres? DP likes war simulators (which I know there are lots of). I like mario type platforms. Can you get Mario on XBox or is it still a nintendo only game?

I think I have ruled out the PS3 due to initial cost and game prices.

No Mario for xbox360 but have lots of other platforms on like sonic and crash bandicoot, loads of war simulations games.

Wii doesn't have war sim games but loads of platforms.

We have both and mainly play the xbox.

my sister tells me the xbox 360 is definately better than the PS3

Wii seems to be more fun for groups of people/parties/families/playing instruments with your hubby/doing keep fit races etc

at the mo I want a Wii and my hubby wants an Xbox...................

I think it is the opposite way round here.

I want to get DP a XBox as I think he will get more out of that than a Wii. He thinks the Wii looks like more fun though. But he does like his call of Duty type games and I have heard that they are not quite as good on teh Wii.

Can you hook teh wii up to a broadband connection thing like you can an Xbox?

I dont get why adults would want a games console. Sorry not helpful I know!

Wii is more sociable, I think. DH plays war games on the 'puter.

The music games are great fun.

TBH I am the eyes for the war gaems. DP has the guns. we work together.

I dunno they are very different systems aren't they.

Wii is good for family type games but all the big ticket games aimed at adults are for Xbox or PS3, or if they are available for the Wii just aren't implemented as well. Graphics capability of the Wii is also much poorer than the other two.

Technically, the PS3 is the better machine. But it's more expensive, patches aren't sent out in a timely fashion, their live/online play is pretty crap. Also, it's apparently harder to code for so most games are coded primarily for Xbox then converted to PS3 afterwards - which would suggest that they'll run best on the Xbox.

Being a mac fan, I am really loathed to push a Microsoft product, but they really do seem to be the best console manufacturer out there
