Brand new Mini Micro Scooter...surely it can't be complex to assemble?

DS is two today (hurrah! and - sob! sentimental tears of joy!) and we've bought him a MM Scooter.

It looks very straightforward to assemble: I've slotted the handle into the hole on the base, making sure the clip thing locks in. I think that's all I need to do, isn't it? It all looks good to me, but they've provided allen keys and it's not clear what they're for. The instructions say you should tighten up any loose fittings with them - is that it?

Cheers in advance!

did they provide allen keeys? how strange, i just opened ours the other day and didn't see any. i think the instructions are pretty much for all the scooters, if you look at the safety instructions they're deffo not for the micro mini. i just clicked dd's into place and assumed all was well. (and then thought 'where the hell am i going to store this' and unclicked it with a knife so i could put it back in the box.

I just clicked DS's together. I remember looking for some use for the allen key and not finding one. To date it has survived about 4 months of adoration and regular use from DS - they are great little things.

Aitch, I think you should sue the makers for neglience !

I love the instructions on limiting your child's speed - up to 5mph! Cause all mums come with an inbuilt speedometer, of course!

Looks like it is just a case of click and ride, so thanks for your help! Off to the park now, wheeeeeeeeeee!!!

You need the allen key to remove the wheels (you can turn them around once they've started to get worn if you like) and underneath after a coupld of years that metal U bit may snap & need replacing - you will need the allen key for that

how did it go? did you get a helmet by the way? and pads?

MrsThierryHenry · 01/12/2008 13:28

Hullooo!

The scooter's fine, only problem is I wish I were light enough to ride it myself!

Got the pads (around a fiver for both sets on amazon - fab!) and will go to fit DS for a helmet, which he'll also need once I get myself a bike, as he'll be riding on the back.

At the moment he's very slow on the scooter so I think he's more likely to injure passing snails than himself!

Thanks for asking xx
