A question for anyone who has a Bugaboo Cam + a dd.....................

What colour combination do you have and are you happy with your choice?

I got grey base with sand fabrics for dd (due next month) and I'm fed up looking at it now. I really fancy another colour but I just can't decide. Red looks nice, so does black (too boring?), haven't seen pink in the flesh (too much?).

All opinions appreciated .

Well, I had one and it was for a ds

I had the same combo as you, found the sand fleece got grubby quickly, but otherwise was nice with his colouring.

If I'd had a girl, I'd have liked the red or possibly brown, or a mixture. Actually it depends on the child and what they look like.

Dark colouring is nice with those. Red and black not good with a very blonde, pale baby!

Orange is too bright and pink is yuk, imo.

weepootle · 27/11/2008 20:02

Well I'm very unlikely to have a blonde baby so red's still in the running except dh is dead against it - why do they have to bring football colours into everything?

I had sand base with chocolate brown covers and spare sand canvas covers. Although I cannot stand the pink bugaboo I saw one with the chocolate base in John Lewis the other day and it actually looked really lovely!

I have pink for dd2, I avoided all the "is it a boy?" I had with dd1

The plus side is you don't have to have the shocking pink that bugaboo do there are lots of lovely customs out there. You could pick something that you love and have it made up if you like

lisad123 · 27/11/2008 20:51

i have a grey base and pink canvas covers. I pref the new pink to the old pink tbh hth

stillstanding · 27/11/2008 20:54

I have grey with sand too, weepootle. Thought it would be good to be "neutral" which I spose it is and I do like it but it is very common and rather dull.

I think red is also pretty common and I dont like the pink. I think if I was to go for another colour it would be green which is pretty vibrant and fun without being naff.

Booboobedoo · 27/11/2008 20:59

Another DS over here, but I've got yellow with the dark grey base.

Looks lovely (imo).

pgwithnumber3 · 27/11/2008 21:13

lisad123, the new pink is darker isn't it? I think that is why I liked it when I saw it the other day. Not quite as shocking as the older covers.

lisad123 · 27/11/2008 21:22

the older covers are fleece and bubble gum pink. The new are canvas and emo pink

pgwithnumber3 · 27/11/2008 21:26

Just that bit more classier lisad123! I really wish Bugaboo had brought a double buggy out in time for DD3's arrival but no such luck.

weepootle · 27/11/2008 21:27

stillstanding, I bought a set in green and dh wasn't keen, then when I found out I was having girl I sold them but I think the green is lovely too. Only thing is, my covers are fleece and I really want canvas for my next set- pretty sure the green only came in fleece.

Booboobedo, I haven't seen the yellow in RL but it does look lovely on the bugaboo website- I'm really not a 'yellow' person though.

Think I'll have to find somewhere to see the pink- I do think it looks nice on the website.

Does anyone know the cheapest place to get the tailored fabrics?

OP posts:
Teaandcake · 27/11/2008 21:52

I recently saw a Cameleon with the dark grey base and black canvas tailored fabrics with a pink Bugaboo footmuff, it looked fab.
Just thought I'd share!

weepootle · 27/11/2008 21:53

Oooh I do like the sound of that, Teaandcake.

scorpio1 · 28/11/2008 16:36

we have all denim & a very pink footmuff (08 pink)

scorpio1 · 28/11/2008 16:38

08 pink example

carrielou2007 · 28/11/2008 20:14

You are all blind, I have grey base with proper pink fleece and it still looks fabulous!!!

Personally I do not like the new pink, far too vibrant compared to the original pink I found, each to their own and all that (my Bee in new pink and hated it)

I have a spare hood and seat liner if you would like to dable (went a bit wrinkly in the wash, apparently a common problem but mothercare refused to replace not happy so bought a new set) should you want to try them out...

Also had gorgous poshbugs pink roses hood and seat and bag but only have bag left now, sold the other two.

weepootle · 29/11/2008 20:58

Thanks for the offer carrielou but I definitely want canvas rather than fleece for my 2nd set.
