I was thinking about buying the Graco, as it has a car seat, carry cot and puchchair and seemed quite good value for money. Has anyone got one of these, are they any good. Would you recommend it?

My friend has this but now uses a maclaren most often BUT, it is fab for a newborn - VERY cosy and actually roomy enough for a toddler too.

It is a bit big and heavy though but nice and sturdy for all your shopping.

Lovely thanks for that. I have a maclaren for when baby gets bigger, and am looking for something for newborn stage. Thanks for the advice

Hi, I have one, it was ok and nice and warm for DS this time last year but once he was 3 months I just put him in the Maclaren with the Graco cosy toes and have never even looked at the Graco since.

I really wish I had just bought a Maclaren Techno and a car seat that does from birth to 4yrs.

Oh and the car seat is heavy I can barely carry it and DD is only 3 months (she weighs 10lbsish)

I checked with my friend and she switched to maclaren xlr from about 8 months...she still uses the graco as her walking buggy and still raves about it.

It's funny how you can get such difference of opinion on the same product.

I guess it depends on your needs - i.e how you will be using the buggy, where you live, modes of transport etc.

There have been a couple of threads about it lately, people hated it, but I am sure some like it. Heave you tried it in a shop? Have a good muck about with one, take your time...see how you raise the backrest, how it folds, how you get the child in and out...and what the steering is like (put a heavy bag in it if baby not here yet or it'll be nothing like the real steering you'll get!)

Personally I have found gracos are cheap, have good shopping space, very light (not always a good thing) and not much suspension so I would look at getitng an air tyred pram for first 3-6 months till baby stops doing that arms in the air reflex over every bump!

Also that model looks very bulky and large - might not be great in busy shops etc.

I had one, got a Maclaren when DD1 was 8 weeks old, it's too big and cumbersome although I agree v comfy.

If you do a lot of walking it would be OK but useless as a on and off buses or boot of car pram.

Better to buy a good car seat and another pram

Yes you really want a light car seat - once baby is in it it'll kill your arm! If you're getting one, get one that clicks on and off a base in the car. But travel system as such not a great thing.

all my friends with gracos hated them, too heavy and bulky. if its the carrycot your after how about looking at a silvercross dazzle? its a lightweight buggy (with higher handles and funkier colours than maclaren) that takes a carrycot for newborn. Alongside a maxi cosi carseat you'll be done till baby can walk, and save yourself a fortune
