Would like to buy DD a warm winter coat, where should I look?

We have just returned from living in the Med for th last 3 years and we're feeling the chill! DD's school coat just isn't warm enough and I would like to buy her a thicker one. Have found this one just wondered where else is worth looking.

Woolies do a lot of coats and will be very cheap at the mo !

Debenhams have some on sale on-line.

T K Maxx is another good place to try.

I'm another who got a nice one for my DD in Zara! They had some gorgeous ones in today when I looked too.

Wallaroo · 26/11/2008 14:18

Do they have Zara online? Off to look...

TheGoat · 26/11/2008 14:20

debennams have lovely quitly ones

MrsBadger · 26/11/2008 14:22

Many Zara ones are wool though - no good if you have a puddlejumper

Tchibo have well-priced ski-type jackets here - scroll down. The boys' version might be a better colour for school if your are strict

Wallaroo · 26/11/2008 14:24

Not really Zara on line but found my nearest store. Have to say would be helpful having a machine washable one.

H & M have some half price

Wallaroo · 26/11/2008 14:27

No school not strict, can wear any colour/style coat. That's a lovely ski jacket Mrs Badger. Will show DD when she gets home, found a couple on the John Lewis web site too!

seriously warm/waterproof and washable here

brimfull · 26/11/2008 14:29

oops

squeaver · 26/11/2008 14:32

Oh the Zara site is a nightmare, but I just wanted you to know that my dd's coat is:

  • waterproof
  • with a detachable lining
  • with a hood with detachable furry bit

and, amazingly, it's navy blue (which she has to have for school).

It's the nicest coat she's ever had.

Look at this thread here!

The Gap ones are the toatiest I've ever found!

used2bthin · 26/11/2008 14:40

squever I think our dds have the same coat, hers is kind of a dusky pink sort of puffa style, water proof and machine washable. They had them in a few colours today and I wished I'd got red instead.

squeaver · 26/11/2008 14:42

yes I think they are the same, used2. I was so pleased to get a nice navy blue coat for a girl.

Wallaroo · 26/11/2008 14:42

Do Gap do online shopping?
