space and aliens!

Hi,
We are in the process of decorating the boys bedroom, Rebecca has at last move into her own very pink boudoir! We will have to do it as quick as we can as they have nowhere else to sleep! They are 5, and want an outer space theme with aliens and planets etc. We have painted the ceiling today, its midnight blue, and will put stars on it. I am looking for fun things to go on the walls and to hang from the ceiling like inflatable martians! Any ideas?
On another subject we are going on a long car journey to France, and are worried about their car seats. They have outgrown them and now have boosters, but on a long trip if they start to fall asleep there poor heads drop onto their chest and they roll from side to side. I have been looking at the things in the GLTC catalogue that you can attach to existing belts to support their heads and to place the seat belt across them correctly, anyone tried them?

Have you tried travelling with children ?

They sell a great yoke called the sleepy head support cushion. It fits on the seat behind the child and gives them two side cushions.

My guys are both on boosters and fall asleep quite happily resting against the cushions even on long journeys.

How about getting some model or toy spaceships or any spacecraft. You can hang them from the ceiling. Another good thing is if you can find something like model planets of the solar system. You can hang them also. Maybe you can make them at home. I'll let you know if I come up with any other ideas. Have to run out for a little bit.

triplets, you can get spaceships etc that hang off the ceiling and run off a battery so when you switch them on they fly around in a circle. We have one but I can't remember where it came from.

For the walls, do Dulux still do their Kids range of bright paint and stencils? (I think it was stencils.) They definitely had a space theme one. There are glow-in-the-dark planet stickers as well as stars for the ceiling too.

An alternative for the car is to take their bed pillows and lean them against the window - we always do that on long journeys. (Or you could get them those new carseats, in GLTC with the really high back and side head supports - bit expensive as a solution though!)
