Play tent - have you bought a good one?

I'd like to get a play tent for my 18-month-old for Christmas but the choice out there is just overwhelming. Can anyone recommend one, please? I'd like it to look half decent because most likely it'll be up all the time in our sitting room. So probably a nice classic design (maybe a teepee - it's for a boy) rather than anything overly branded. Ta!

Ds is 18 mths too and really into dens at the minute.
We've bought him for crimbo a tent and tunnel combo from Argos, £19.99.

DS1 got a discovery dome by Tomy for his 1st birthday. he is 3 now and still plays with it and DS2 is starting to play in it too!

We bought a pop-up tent from Woolies about 8 years ago thats still going strong. The pop-up tunnel we also bought at the same time is also still intact and used a lot.

Plain colours (no superhero/Barbie etc branding), folds away flat for storage although I have to confess to not having the knack to do this, DP has to do it.

I've had a look on their website to see if they still do them but it seems to not have any toys on it at the moment??!!

Seen any interesting cats lately, Norbert?

Apologies to Op on Norbert's behalf for hijacking your thread.

She always does this.

I am shocked.

Just looked at yours again, Norbert - my mascara's running now

mamadiva · 26/11/2008 12:59

Don't buy the one from Argos it's shite ours snapped on christmas morning. The tunnel is fine but the tent and the circley bit is a no go

Tesco did do some and they are good though.

MatNanPlus · 26/11/2008 13:00

Ikea have a lovely red dome

NorbertDentressangle · 26/11/2008 13:03

bella - moi? . As if....

The thing is I have nothing better to do than just laze around all day......

bella29 · 26/11/2008 13:16

Oh Norbert - you are bad!

All these poor people trying to carry on a serious discussion about play tents, regardless of the two nutters who have obviously wandered into the thread.

Love the multikinis, though

Anyway, gotta go. A serious mission awaits

Lookydo -yes sorry for hijack .

I blame it on being surrounded with chaos (DP currently knocking down walls in the house as he starts next stage of house renovation and I've had to pick up DS early from nursery as hes ill)

Good luck in your quest for a playtent
