man came yesterday and put a new pump on it, and now its not filling and error-ing . BUT I was in sound of mind when I brought it and took out insurance and they are sending me a voucher to buy a BRAND NEW one!! yipppeee!! so what does everyone have and what can I get for £379 (in currys) is it worth me putting some money towards a Miele?

you know the old saying "you get what you pay for"

depends, with Christmas looming. I've just bought a cheap-ish one, and it's ok.

SparklyGothKat · 19/11/2008 16:24

I thought that when I brought the blasted thing. Its a LG and twas expensive. Currys have a Miele for £399, but not sure if the cheaper ones are bad.. IYKWIM

miele are fantastic

our current one is a bosch and that's great too

Lastyearsmodel · 19/11/2008 16:33

Just bought new Bosch (basic one, £299 John Lewis) on MNers' recommendation. But they did also say Miele were good if you could afford it.
Happy so far with Bosch but only been a week.

SparklyGothKat · 19/11/2008 16:35

so the 'cheaper' miele will be just as good as an expensive one. This LG one has had 2 new pumps and now is not filling (not sure if the man did something wrong)

Mine is smeg...so far so good...the shop recommended it as 'just as good as miele but without the price tag'......

we shall see!

SparklyGothKat · 19/11/2008 16:40

was looking at smegs too

i have a bosch dishwasher thast fine, it works plates come out clean! lol. it was part fo the ktichen all the applicances are bosch fitted oens when we moved in.

previosuly we had cheaper ones like whirlpool which were horrendous, so i would now go for soemthign liek the bosch, miele etc. and if you only have to add £20 then go for it, is the warantee transferabel though or else could cost you a heap extra in a new warantee.

SparklyGothKat · 19/11/2008 16:41

was only paying £2.99 a month for the insurance lol

I'd dig my heels in and request extended guarantee on the new one too. If it's had all these problems, you're probably not the only one, and should places be selling stuff they know is prone to faults?

SparklyGothKat · 19/11/2008 17:10

currys are no longer selling LG dishwashers

should I put this one on ebay with its faults? Someone might know how to fix it and get a bargain.. lol
