Where can I get bright yellow boys' socks by Friday?

Which probably means High Street rather than Internet...

Have been making DS a Beegu costume for a nursery thing on Friday, which involved buying white stuff and dying it all bright yellow. But I forgot to include socks. Now, I know it's not going to matter in the grand scheme of things if he wears brown socks, but the perfectionist in me would like them to be yellow. So if there are any to be had relatively easily I'd like to get hold of them (they'll come in useful anyway as DS's favourite colour is yellow and so far as I can tell he eats socks or trades them to supernatural entities or something).

Sports shops, may have yellow football socks?

JackieNo · 18/11/2008 17:59

How old is he/what size?

PortAndLemon · 18/11/2008 18:03

Size 28 European, which I think is children's size 9.5 or so?

Will try sports shops, good idea.

Hennes had a multipack of 5 kids socks which included a bright yellow pair at the weekend...

Oooh, could do H&M in Wimbledon, thanks.

can't you just dye some white ones?

PortAndLemon · 18/11/2008 18:17

Yes, but that's the point -- I've already dyed an entire outfit bar the socks. Everything I own that I could possibly want to dye yellow has now been dyed yellow, all bar one pair of socks. And I don't want to buy another packet of Dylon just to dye one pair of socks (I'm not quite that perfectionist).

Port and Lemon - don't know if you used the large packet for use in washing machines, but you can get just a small tin of dye for cold water or hot water dyeing. It's probably cheaper and easier than tracking down and buying yellow socks.

PortAndLemon · 18/11/2008 18:54

That's a thought. I can at least see which is easier/quicker/cheaper to get hold of.
