Wii - another question - controllers v nunchucks

What's the difference between a controller and a nunchuck please? I've ordered the basic Wii console which comes with a controller and have also bought the play package with another controller included, but am at a loss what you do with a nunchuck!!! Can anyone enlighten me please?

nunchucks are used when you need to use 2 hands for a game eg boxing, swimming, etc. Not all games need a nunchuck but it is handy to have a couple just in case. The nunchuck connects to the controller and you hold it in your free hand.
