Digital photo frames........?

Thought I might get one of these for my mum and step dad for xmas, I have seen one for £26. How do you get photos on them? Do I give it to them without anything downloaded or can I put photos on beforehand? Thanks

Depending on the model it should say what forms of media that it takes., eg SD, MMC.

I think that there are also some where you can store the images on the frame themselves.

If I was getting a digital frame for someone for christmas (and we are), I would give with some images already pre-loaded.

You use a memory card which can either be from any digital camera or you can load photos onto a blank one. You will have to buy the card separately.

I loaded my photos using a special USB pen that I bought at pc world that allowed you to put memory card into the pen and transfer selected photos from my computer of the dcs.

Worth stating also that I spent hours uploading about 100 photos of the family and the dcs through all ages onto this memory card for the inlaws... and MIL keeps the frame in a drawer in its box and only plugs it in and looks at the photos when they have special visitors, roughly three times a year

ok thanks. So I would have to buy a memorey card? Can I just buy the frame and loads pictures onto it without the memory card? Surely you can store photos on the actual frame.

We've got a Phillips one and you can store photos on the frame. It must have a memory card included with it or some internal memory (blankly ignorant here). DH just connected it to the laptop and copied pictures across.

It will have memory in it but it won't hold many photos. As a token gesture you could just put a few on there for now.
