Please?
I don't want to buy a chocolate one from the supermarket that breaks.

I would like one that I can put small tokens in, which may or my not include chocolate.

GLTC I think, or Jojomamanbebe.

Heated · 16/11/2008 22:27

Jojo have a lovely one that is on offer and there is a discount code too somewhere.

I got a nice fabric one for £5 from Netto a couple of years ago. They had them in a couple of weeks ago for £3.50 - they still had some in our local one on Friday, so if you have a Netto nearby it might be worth a look.

SomeKindofWonderful · 16/11/2008 22:34

Oh that is lovely Heated! I just told DH how much it is...he is 'mulling it over' !!!

Chasing - I don't think we have Netto here? I shall go look though...

What is GLTC?

tbh netto have alot of crap in the special offer stuff, but they also have some decent things and I have been really pleased with this.

Heated · 16/11/2008 22:37

Jojo discount code of 15% with MTD82 which brings it to £24.65. I have one on order but hasn't arrived yet. My c/c is so taking a battering this month!

cornsilk · 16/11/2008 22:39

GLTC - gtreat little trading company, they do similar stuff to Jojo.
Heated that is lovely! Good investment as well. My 2 have got lego ones this year.

silverfrog · 16/11/2008 22:39

Cotswold Company have a couple in their sale which is quite nice here and here

ChasingSquirrels · 16/11/2008 22:41

I really like the Carousel one

luckylady74 · 16/11/2008 22:41

I've had a wooden one for 2 years from John Lewis - it has charms that you take out and hang in the main picture - kids love it and no chocolate at all.

Heated · 16/11/2008 22:44

That carosel one is lovely Silverfrog, but I think it's out of stock, everyone else must have loved it too. The sled one is a fantastic price.

I never knew there were lego ones, Cornsilk, good job ds doesn't either!

silverfrog · 16/11/2008 22:45

oops, sorry - didn't look at that bit! I only ordered mine yesterday - hopefully i went through before they sold out!

sunnyshine · 16/11/2008 22:48

baker ross have some material ones too ~(Product Code: WSP162 ) reduced to £2.99 or wooden ones (Product Code: U59 ) for 12.99

Candlewax · 16/11/2008 22:49

I got mine from a local fabric shop. They could sell you the kit for making your own for £10 or you could buy a ready done one for £16. I bought the ready done one and it is about to have it's 6th year, so I consider that money well spent.

pointydog · 16/11/2008 22:52

Marks and Sparks have lovely ones - £9.99.

www.idealworld.tv/Wooden_Keepsake_Advent_Calendar_827201.aspx?search=advent%20calender

only the tree one left though.

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 16/11/2008 23:01

Just wanted to say, I can't evangelise about wooden advent calendars enough. My SiL bought on for DD when she was tiny and it's on it's 5th year. She still truly believes that Father Christmas's elves visit every night to put something in it for her, They magically "know" if she has a friend staying overnight, so put 2 chocs (or whatever) in, the elves also take her letter for FC (left in one of the little drawers) to him, and sometimes even deliver a letter back along with the chocolate to be found in the morning. It's magical.

purpleduck · 16/11/2008 23:21

We got one last year at Tchibo - it hangs on the door, and takes up nearly the whole thing - can't find it online yet though..

solo · 16/11/2008 23:34

I bought a lovely one from a charity shop(Cancer research or something)a few years ago, it was a stock line and brand new...one of the ones that sell the brand new gifts and cards etc...It's fabric and gorgeous!

SomeKindofWonderful · 17/11/2008 20:11

Oh I love them! I love the carousel ! And I also like the sleigh one - what a fab price!
However I have been seriously thinking about it over the last day, and I think I might get the Marks and Spencer for DD, and then get one each for the children in USA. We are going there on 21 Dec for christmas, so I can send them now for them to open and then DD can open hers here, and then they can open them together for the last couple of days...

...then next year if we don't spend christmas all together, they can open them via skype together!

Saw nice cloth ones in Oxfam - fair trade type.

Catzenobia · 18/11/2008 16:11

I got a Gisela Graham one which I think is very sweet. She does a few different designs - available on ebay.
