Please talk to me about MOUNTAIN BUGGIES - again...

Sorry to be a bore

I've decided to sell the buggies we already have as none of them is really ideal where we live now.

I'm going to use the money to get a Mountain buggy - I had an older one, and I miss it.

However I am flummoxed by all the choices now.

I loved the old fabric, not too keen on the manmade stuff - I found a cheap new Urban the other day but have now cancelled the order as I think I want the Elite, apparently it has nicer fabric?

Has anyone got one, and is this true?

I also don't understand the differences between the 08 and 09 models, and I didn't realise the Elite was available a few years ago...so am quite confused as ti how to get the best version, and how to tell which one the shops are selling as some say 08 and some say 09.

Please bear with me. It is worth it for you lot as you will get to buy it from me second hand once my toddler decides he's walking everywhere (probably in about 6 weeks lol)

Thankyou

This is a good thread!

Flightattendant4 · 17/11/2008 17:48

and read this...about the Herbie

Bit worrying but it might have been sorted by now.

EachPeachPearMum · 17/11/2008 20:48

Oh, thank you! very helpful
I ought to actually do something about ordering soon I think... especially with christmas in the middle- eek!

EachPeachPearMum · 17/11/2008 22:55

Argh! why did I read that thread? Have been googling... now I want a Gesslein!

Flightattendant4 · 18/11/2008 06:18

well I can't blame you

I have still got mine, it's beautiful - perfect for a small baby - can you maybe get both?

I got all mine on ebay though, so I suppose instead of paying maybe £500 for a new thing I might not like, I got several for about a fifth of that or much less!

Gesslein and Teutonia lose their value very very quickly. The Gesslein I got had barely been used, it was just in perfect condition and it was £125.

The build does impress me - it folds small, is extremely light to push, but it is quite wide and hasn't swivel wheels and is also pretty low down. The basket isn't too useful and I wouldn't take it off road at all as it'd scuff underneath.

(Gosh, I really can ramble about prams!!! Sorry! )

The fabrics are something else - ours has a slightly shimmery grey outside, lined with cream brocade with butterflies impressed on the material (you know how brocade has like a damasky relief to it - well that's what it's like - all cotton)
It is unbelieveable, I never knew you could get prams made like that. And it has leather straps for suspension.

I love it so much I think I'll keep it forever - more babies or not! Although I really ought to sell it...

I do have to sell some of them though. Where are you Eachpeach? I think I have an Emmaljunga you can have very cheaply - it's an older model which has the flip over handlebar - would be great for the first few months. It's not the actual bassinet, just a fully reclining seat with what's called a 'duo lift' which is basically a hard based carrycot with handles that sits in the seat. (Like phil and Teds thingy but bigger)

I need to go and check I have all the parts. Also you'd need to collect!

Flightattendant4 · 18/11/2008 06:19

Btw didn't start off that post trying to sell you something - honestly!

I'll bung it on the for sale section later, I am attached to all my prams anyway so never care if people don't want them

EachPeachPearMum · 18/11/2008 20:00

Thats ok FLight- I can tell you're very keen on prams!

I think I live a little far away to be honest (b h a m), and I do want one with carrycot ....
Your Gesslein sounds divine though!
Think I will crack on and order the hauck.

Flightattendant4 · 19/11/2008 06:49

Ooh! Let us know what it's like (am all pram happy again, it's the big box arriving and that shiny plastic, ooh ooh ooh!!!

Can I come round and open it for you, can I? Pleeeeease!!!

Hope it is lovely.
