DD is now 6 months and just about crawling, she wants to stand holding on to things all the time. We spend a lot of time out and about and she when out of the buggy just wants to be standing!

Now if it wasn't winter I wouldn't even be considering getting her any shoes - but as we are wlays outside etc, think will need something in the next few months...

So what would you get? those little soft leather things, clarks crawlers or something else? Also not even sure if her feet are big enough for the clarks (know can get her measured!) is there such a thing as a sheet to print out to work out her size or lenths/width measurements anywhere online, just to see how far off a 2 we are?

thanks so much

You could ask at the shoe shop. But I liked these for a baby in the winter - a bit nearer to bare feet than Clarks pre-walkers which are fairly rigid:

Robeeze boots

DD loved hers and they come in a range of colours.

i took my dd in to clarks when she was cruising and they told me that a child walking o/s in cruisers would be like walking down the road in slippers, ie you would feel every bump and i assume crawlers would be same or worse, they are not intended for o/s use. i honestly wouldn't bother, let her walk barefoot at home and indoors but not o/s

Cruisers/pre-walkers have a fairly substantial sole, at least the ones we had did. I don't think babies feel every bump so much, actually, perhaps because of being so light. My daughter would happily walk on gravel at 10 months, barefoot, and didn't seem to notice it. I'd have been cringing and yelling if I did the same!

the cruisers/pre-walkers are ideal shoes for as long as they fit into them, only use them outside as barefoot is best. They are far better for their feet than proper shoes so buy them until you can't get them in their size anymore. They are much softer and flexible and less likely to damage their feet - much cheaper too!

how about flummy shoes? we got a pair in germany for ds to wear in the winter to keep his feet warm. they are made of really soft leather and are really flexible. you can get them on ebay-i'm going to order another pair as we lost one of the 1st ones!!

I got Dd's new shoes today in a Start Rite shop. They had quite a good range in the sale of all types(pram type/crawlers/cruisers and walking shoes). I got Dd's Start Rites for £19.00 They are gorgeous! their prices started at £5.00
