Sorry if this has been done before

I have just bought dd2 her first bed which ended up costing me more than i thought as i had to buy a new materess as well as the bed. Now i havn't got much money left for bedding.

Is it ok just to use single bed sheets for a toddler bed?

Also where can i buy a duvet or duvet cover set for not much money?

It needs to be brightly coloured as dd2 has autism and preferes bright colours. If possible red or blue (no pink).

I asked the same question a while ago as Mothercare, etc seem to be really expensive for bedding. I ended up getting mine from Dunelm - I got a cot bed size duvet (£9.99) and duvet covers (think they were about £10 each - can't remember exact price - about half the price of Mothercare though!). They do have some nice ones to choose from and you can order online. Ikea are good for inexpensive bedding too, and lots of nice bright colours to choose from. Only problem is you can't order everything online and our nearest Ikea is miles away!

After buying my cot bed duvet I've since thought I may as well have just bought a normal single sized duvet and sheets - they're really cheap in supermarkets (about £5 for a single duvet in Sainsbury's I think), and then there is a much bigger choice of covers and things.

You can use single flat sheets, I rgret buying a toddler bed now as the stuff is hard to find and expensive. Single duvet is OK too, infact its less likely to fall off that a cot size one. I know argos have coloured flat sheets.

You could even buy double and cut in half and hem, if you were crafty (arty, not sneaky!)

On my toddlers bed we use cot bed sized sheets from mothercare and the pillow/ duvet and covers are the cot sized ones from ikea.

The duvet and pillow were cheapy ones and the covers have been about £7 a set.

She has an animal one and an insect faries one but there were loads to choose from.
