DD is going to be flower girl at a very hot beach wedding in the US in July. Where should we look for a dress? (Or possibly a dressmaker??) We're in London.

Vertbaudet have lots of good value pretty dresses in their Arthur & Felice range.

Expectantmum · 14/03/2005 14:45

Monsoon do some lovely dresses too!

WigWamBam · 14/03/2005 14:50

flamesparrow · 14/03/2005 14:55

Thanks all - have had a quick scan of all these on the net and there are some lovely dresses. Unfortunately the Next ones seem to start at 3 years, which is a shame - although maybe I could have a 3y one altered??

perhaps phone them or the store?

not everything is online

flamesparrow · 14/03/2005 15:17

If you look at the next one with the little blonde curly girl, it starts at 3, but then lower down the list you get 1 1/2 - 2, and 2-3.

my dd was a b/maid last year at 18 months and she got her dress from next bridesmaid range -- was beautiful (and I say that as someone who hates next) and was only £20... however, it was not cottton and I think that might be the best material for a hot wedding... monsoon would be my first choice...

katzguk · 14/03/2005 15:39

was going to say vertbaudet too!! some lovely dresses and matching hats ect

ebbie22 · 14/03/2005 15:41

What colour are you looking for?

Blossomhill · 14/03/2005 15:43

Bhs do lovely dresses. Got my dd's for our wedding in there!

Jbck · 14/03/2005 18:33

My friends DD & DS were flower girl & page boy at her nieces' wedding last year, their outfits were the Arthur & Felice (sp?) range from Vertbaudet & they looked absolutely gorgeous. They were cotton or linen outfits & in matching tones.

ebbie - don't know yet, bride hasn't decided

Thanks again everyone

Still no update on the colour - I think that's going to be flexible - but it needs to be 'floaty.' Most of the dresses I've seen are pretty much the same shape - anyone seen anything floaty?!

Lovely suggestions everyone - the Boden dresses are great - the floaty one and the gorgeous linen shift dress - sadly they don't seem to come in small enough sizes

M&S?

sanchpanch · 16/03/2005 13:59

sometimes in the babbleboom range in debenhams chidren dept, they had lovely dresses last year

CountessDracula · 16/03/2005 14:01

franch I have a lovely monsoon very simple crimply dress, think it's 18-24 months (may be 12-18 but if so is big one), crimply white skirt, fitted bodice with a few plain looking flowers embroidered on it. I could lend it to you? DD wore for her non-christening for part of the day. If you're interested cat me and I can send you photo
