Socks that stay on a squirmy baby?!

julietbat · 11/11/2008 13:23

My 8 month old dd is a squirmy, crawling, hyper, kicky (adorable) little thing with cold feet because she manages to repel anything I ever put on her feet in 10 seconds flat. Does anyone know of any socks that are particularly good for refusing to be repelled??

There is a product called 'sock ons' which I've heard are good and keep meaning to get - just lycra things in different colours to put over the sock. I don't know how to do links, but if you google you can buy them online.

Gap socks, I promise they never come off (well, ds3 is 2 yrs and can pull them off if he tries really hard!)

QueenFee · 11/11/2008 13:29

i'll second the gap socks

Personally tights always boy or girl, if really cold then socks underneath.

I got sock ons from Jo Jo they are really good. Tights are also a good idea, even with trousers.

socks on, gap socks, trumpette socks or tights. H&M were good aswell i think.

ladyhelen2 · 11/11/2008 13:39

Third you bosch. Gap ones.

Woolies also do some which stay on pretty well. Their 3-12 month size is pretty big - DD2 is still wearing them at 19 months.

Thanks (and bloody quick too!). I'd thought about using tights - we don't have many because we don't really have any dresses for her but that's probably something I need to stock up on for the winter. We also use footed trousers which are quite good but they do end up falling down quite a bit as she crawls around the floor (which was my reservation about tights but I suppose they're tighter:0 so shouldn't do it as much).
And one of my friends mentioned gap socks but as her baby just sits happily still all day I didn't know if she really knew what I was talking about!

Gap vote here too - They are great. Dd had a pair when she was born and they still fit her well at 5mo. Never once come off.
