leather sofa - DFS or Ikea

need to get a new leather sofa before xmas- going to send about £700 - anyone have experience about which would have the better quality.

Our first sofa was from IKEA - fell apart in a year.

All our others have been from DFS - still going strong, if slightly tatty looking! (two cats and one baby later!!)

we recently got one from bhs (i know you werent asking about them) and its lovely, really comfy wearing really well and they have lots of special offers on at the moment

ohh had not though of them will have a look now. thanks. has anyone else had DFS leather ?

I've got 2 leather ones from DFS. To cut a very long story short One collapsed before it was 6 months old and we spent the next 6 months trying to get someone from DFS to come out to look at it

Sofa's have both collapsed since repair but DP managed to take them apart and fix himself so they're fine now. When they were dismantled I was very shocked to see that they were made from crappy offcuts of wood.

Got ours in Ikea,2 yrs ago-still looks brand new(surprising with 2 dc's!) and it's very easy to clean.
