Play doh ... if unopened does it go off?

I am trying to recycle a couple of ds' presents from last year (or maybe the year before ) to pass on to other people for christmas. He had a wheelie suitcase set of play doh and cutters etc. If it has never been opened will it still be fresh or does it have a shelf life?

If it's the genuine Play Doh make, then it should be fine. I've opened PD tubs that were a few years old and they were perfectly fresh, but other makes have either smelt nasty or dried out.

Thanks ... it is geniune play doh so hopefully it will be ok. I have 2 lots I am giving away .. fingers crossed anyway!
