Tripp Trapp - has anyone else's little darling managed to tip it over?

ds 2 had been trying to tip it for ages and has managed it by rocking it and putting his feet on the table and pushing back.

A friend said that you couldn't tip them

Ds 2 (11 months at the time) did!

We now can't let him be near the table as he keeps trying to tip it.

A friend of mine found this too, with her toddler. Had to go back to using the big highchair with a tray.

We have two Tripp Trapps. Not one of my four chilrdren has ever tipped it. But I do use the reins for my 16 month old.

DS did it once by pushing off from the table. But only once - that gave him such a shock. Hopefully your DS will get fed up of it soon

muppetgirl · 05/11/2008 20:57

he is a very big boys and rocks it like a loon with a wild demonic laugh. I have the harness but not sure how that would help his getting his feet on the table and pushing situation. I still love it though and ds 1 still wants one and he's 4.8

For a moment I thought this was another thread about trolls.

AMamaForObama · 05/11/2008 20:59

ds2 same as chocolates
Only once...
We put felt sliders under chair so he can push away and not meet resistance
Now of course aged 19mths he abseils over the back without so much as a glimmer of fear.
Meanwhile I'm shitting myself in the corner

muppetgirl · 05/11/2008 21:24

My two have never done it so I've never had to try it but I've heard of people tying the legs of the tripp trapp to the dining table legs in repeat offenders!

giddykipper · 05/11/2008 21:29

We've had a few near misses like this

Tying it to the table leg isn't a bad idea actually

muppetgirl · 05/11/2008 21:32

ooo tying the legs sounds a grand idea.

DD1 did it once, but never again! DD2 is still working on it . . .

IlanaK · 05/11/2008 22:04

I have two for my older two boys and they have never tried this. I have one about to be delivered for ds3 and I can definately see him doing this - totally different personality! I will watch this with interest.
