NOt quite the same, but these? But not as nice. Plenty of stacks of bangles, but not seen ones with the charms on.

JackieNo · 04/11/2008 13:19

Maybe?

moonmother · 04/11/2008 13:23

OMG!!! [shoc]

I started a post asking whether they were sterling silver, thinking the bangles were silver as well.

then

I opened the detailed view and saw they are actually leather bangles with heart charms on....for £70.00!!!!

I could make you them for A LOT less than that, depending on how many you want, but I would say no more than £30.00 at the most.

That is for sterling silver charms, for silver plate it would be about £15.00

JackieNo · 04/11/2008 13:25

Oh, gosh - I thought they were silver too. Whoops.

Eniddo · 04/11/2008 13:25

you do get the whole lot for £70 though

Eve · 04/11/2008 13:34

looks like it is 12 braclets, with charms and I wasn't sure if the bangles were leather or somoe sort of stretchy bangle.

Moonmother... if you could make them.. I would be really impressed and happy!!

I'm a jewellery designer by trade and it astounds me the jumped up prices people sell their jewellery for, just because they are a 'Brand'

So...

From what I can see from the detailed picture, there are 14 bangles.

at the most that is 2 metres of leather thong, which costs £2.00 from suppliers

then you have the finishing on the leather thong for sterling silver , it would be about £6.00

Jump rings in Sterling would be next to nothing 50p at best

The heart charms, roughly about £1.00 in sterling from trade suppliers.

that totals about on average £26.00 .

Obviously labour costs have to be added to that, but to be honest these sorts of jewellery are made in India or China for pittance. I have endless emails from companies from these countries asking me to buy their mass produced jewellery, to sell.

There are a lot of designers like me out there that design and make their jewellery, to sell, people would not be ripped off so much, and every piece is unique, which makes it extra special. There is handmade jewellery out there to suit every taste, you just have to look for it.

moonmother ... that sounds perfect... I am not subscribed so not sure I can CAT you...

is there another contact means.

Eve the only reason the second set are more expensive is because it's gold rather than silver, although trade wise there's not muh difference.

If you'd like to email me my addys

craftymiss2007 at ntlworld dot com.

another good thing about handmade designers is, if you have style in mind or an idea, the designers will usually be able to accomodate your ideas, into the jewellery.

My most favourite work is commissions, I love nothing better than making my customers a piece of jewellery the way they want it.

For example , if you liked both sets of bangles then by having someone to commission them, you could have hearts and semi precious stones together.

Poeple think commisions are going to be more expensive, but in actual fact if you arrange a budget before hand most designers can work within that.

Ok I'll get off my soap box now
