Hot Wheels ...

I remember playing with my brother's track and cars for hours and hours when I was younger.

Fancy getting some for DD2 ... she's only 2.5 but loves cars and stuff. Trouble is, it's not like it was when I was young ... it's all really complicated! Can't you just buy track and cars??

I did see one good thing which was a fold-away (so wins points on tidiness) 4 lane track which you race cars down. Seems straight forward and fun.

Anyone got Hot Wheels stuff and knows if a 2.5 year old would be able to handle it??

I have seen a fairly simple Hot Wheels track and cars advertised on tv (not seen it in any shops though). Might be this I think.

Ds1 (2.5) has this one. It is rather flimsy looking in the flesh (well, in the plastic) and makes lots of annoying and very loud noises, but he loves it! Even ds2 (8mo) has started playing with it now too.
