Lundby Dolls house

We are looking for a Lundy dolls house for a 6 year old, have seen them online but never up close, does anybody have them, are they cheap and plasticy or well made, we have one of the painted wooden dolls houses for dd's sister who is 4, but it has the really chunky wooden furniture, I'm not too keen on getting another one similar and I also think its quite babyish for her. Thanks

My daughter got the new Stockholm version, which looks like something from "Grand Designs", two years ago when she was eight.

It looks great and the furniture to go with it is very detailed, well made and ultra-trendy.

She loves it (so do I) but I would only buy it for a careful child, as the house itself has sliding plastic panels which are just begging to be broken.

We always put it away when her more rough and tumble friends visit.

The traditional stacking type Lundbys are duller to look at but less fragile.

And The Dolls House Emporium has just brought out a house very like the Lundby Stockholm, but which is made of wood so I would imagine it is fairly durable.

Do they have fronts on them or are they just open, cant really see from the pictures.

The new style Lundby Stockholm has a front made of individual thin plastic panels which slide into the roof of each room.

The old style house, which used to be called a Gothenberg - not sure if it is still called that but it has an asymmetric pointed roof, five rooms and can have extensions added to the base - didn't have a front and, as far as I know, still doesn't. It is fairly easy to cut a dustcover for it out of perspex, however.
